Customer Reviews — [1] Rating: 4 Date: 2010-03-02 Summary: Solid Reputation and Performer ... I buy Linksys because of its reliability, ease-of-use, and three-year warranty. I gave it a slightly lower rating because Linksys now only offers a one-year warranty. Regardless, it's my fourth - three currently working - and I've no complaints, especially since it gives me the option to "upgrade" using third-party vendor software. The OEM-provided software and upgrades are more than sufficient for my needs. I don't run any file-sharing nor am I an avid online gamer but we do have five wireless users who use the Internet ...more
[2] Rating: 5 Date: 2010-03-04 Summary: Good router. Never crashed like my old DLink router. ... Solid like a rock. I did not update its firmware although there are free mod firmwares out there that can do many extra things. The only thing is that the router must be on a different sub net as my DSL modem. My DSL modem is on 192.168.1. The router came pre-configured on 192.168.1 as well. Some of my apps do not like this. After I changed the sub net to 192.168.3, everything worked great. ...more
[3] Rating: 5 Date: 2010-03-06 Summary: The best router to date ... I got this to replace the many of many Netgear and Dlink routers I have used in the past. I got it because there were so many good reviews on it and I know why. The wireless reception can reach the bottomless pit of my basement which my old recievers couldn't at all. It has amazing customization options with it. It also has a one button push if you need wireless right away. I would suggest using at least WPA encryption though which is easy to setup via the disk that comes with it. Overall I would give this 6/5 stars ...more

Customer Reviews — [1] Rating: 5 Date: 2010-03-08 Summary: Works Great for Me ... I bought this wireless router because I wanted to upgrade my wireless connection to the N standard. I have had a WRT54G v3 for years, and it has served me well, but I wanted something that would be able to stream HD content reliably through the house, which wireless G isn't really suited for. I have received a version 3 router. This router uses the 2.4Ghz N band, not the 5Ghz band. This suits me well, since I have read from different sources that the 5Ghz band, although uncrowded, doesn't penetrate as far as the 2.4Ghz. ...more
[2] Rating: 5 Date: 2010-03-06 Summary: WRT160N-RM refurbished wireless-n router ... This is my second Linksys wireless router. The reason I bought the Linksys brand the first time (about 6 years ago) is because most of the GA Tech students I met had a Linksys. Those students are not dummies. After about 1 month it works as I expected, good. ...more

Customer Reviews — [1] Rating: 5 Date: 2010-02-26 Summary: Great wireless card for Windows 7 and Linux - easy install ... This wireless card works like a charm. I installed it on a Dell XPS420 that was upgraded to Windows 7 64bit from Vista 32bit and i had no problems. I went to the MSI website to download only the driver so i could use Windows 7 to manage my wireless connection. The driver has worked out great. AND - the big plus is I dual boot to Ubuntu 9.1 and this card works right out of the box. Once it is installed Ubuntu will see it and it works. NO fuss, no mess. Just works. I do recommend getting an optional antenna as the wire ...more

[3] Rating: 4 Date: 2010-02-24 Summary: Easy install on an XP machine ... I installed this in an older XP-based machine. The install went fine but it didn't recognize the card. When I checked, I found I had not seated the card securely in the slot on the motherboard. It is a small card and can be a challenge to press in firmly between existing cards. Skinned knuckles, anyone? I had to re-run the installation process after I got the card into the slot correctly, but it ran without problems and everything was fine. I use this on a machine that is on a different floor of the house than the ...more

When shopping for a new printer I wanted something that would work over wireless and had auto duplexing.(I got really sick of flipping printouts to save paper... only to have it double feed a page and it getting all screwed up). Customer Reviews — [1] Rating: 4 Date: 2010-03-08 Summary: Perfect for the Job ... We needed a printer specifically for printing out crossword puzzles. The puzzles use up a lot of ink, if you can picture all the black squares, and we were constanly running out of black ink. It was becoming way too expensive. As I was looking into printers that would suit my needs my nephew, who is like my own personal shopper :) suggested the Brother's HL 2170W.
